Jennifer Hudson's debut album is available... now! It was released yesterday.

As part of this former American Idol finalist's promotional tour, she stopped by for a chat with the ladies of The View. They had to talk to her about her engagement to David Otunga, of course.

With the debut album from David Archuleta set to hit stores next month, the former American Idol runner-up will be making the publicity rounds a lot over the next few weeks.

We weren't even gonna comment on Clay Aiken's recent announcement that we're gay.

What do we care which gender Aiken finds attractive? He's the same person either way, the same great singer.

But Simon Cowell came out with a classic, hilarious quote on the situation that we had to publish. When confronted with the official news, the American Idol judge said:

"Wow, that's a shock. It's like being told Santa Claus isn't real - unbelievable."

And people wonder why we love Simon so much!

With his album due out November 18, David Cook has just released his first single from it.

It's called “Light On” an here are the song's lyrics:

Chris Daughtry will guest-star on the 100th episode of CBS's CSI: NY.

The 100th show will air in November. It centers on the pursuit of a serial killer who targets people named Mac Taylor – the name of the character played by the show's Gary Sinese.

Daughtry – who is slated to shoot his role on Monday – has been cast as Machiavelli Taylor, described in the production notes as "an attractive 30-something year old musician."

Paula Abdul and Kara Dioguardi are former roommates.

We wonder how the new judge and popular songwriter would react, though, if she heard Abdul essentially taking credit for her career.

Here's what Paula said to OK! about the new addition to American Idol:

"Kara and I are good friends.... I started the whole evolution of what her career's become, because I found her on the streets of New York.  She was an aspiring song writer, and I said, 'are you good?', and she said, 'yeah' and I heard her demos and I convinced her to quit her job and move to LA in my house."

Having sat through American Idol auditions in New York, Jacksonville, Louisville and San Francisco, new judge Kara Dioguardi told The New York Post she's found her footing

"I just know I'm getting my groove, loosening up and forgetting about the big elephant in the room," Kara said about the enormity of American Idol and of keeping pace with Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell.

It did take the songwriter a bit to get used to all the attention.

"The first few [audition] cities I was like, 'Oh my God, the camera is on me' - it was a little strange," she said. "But I'm starting to let my true self come out. You forget about the camera and start being you. And that's been fun for me."

Congratulations are in order for Jennifer Hudson.

The former American Idol finalist is engaged David Otunga. Reality TV fans may know him as "Punk" from season two of I Love New York.

Hudson and Otunga are both from Chicago. They've been dating for less than a year and he proposed this past Friday night, Hudson's 27's birthday.

Sorry. We know this is a family site and all.

But Katharine McPhee obviously wanted us to report on her cleavage, right? Why else would he have left her bra at home in the following photo?
