The final eight American Idol finalists sing "Shout to the Lord" as part of the Idol Gives Back special. The annual fundraiser raises millions and millions for worthwhile causes.
I simply must know; why would they select this song?

It really touched me that a nation wide show that every one is watching gave praise to our lord and savior. It was the best song on the show yet and I really hope it ministered to our youth.

I am blown away by the fact that a show like American Idol would lift up the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. I have read scathing commentary about different reasons why it might have been done. I DON'T CARE. The sight of those young people praising The Son of God on national television moved me to tears of joy. Yes, I understand that they used the word shepherd instead of Jesus the day before, but it was still astounding. The Christian radio station that I listen to downloaded the song and broadcast it out over the air. All were amazed that this has happened.
