Simon Cowell: Call Me, Britney!

Simon Cowell is back to advising Britney Spears.

"It's never too late," says Cowell, who has shown support for Spears in the past. "I think she's the most searched artist on the Internet at the moment, so she has a head start."

Heck, as a producer, Simon is even willing to step in and personally lend a hand.

"I genuinely think that if I sat down with Britney and, No. 1, remind her of all the good things in her life – which are her kids, her money, her success, everything – I'd try to give her a sense of perspective. And then I'd take her out of where she's living at the moment and ask her to go and live with her family – and live normally – for six months."

As Cowell so logically put it: "If you live normally and do normal things, you'll suddenly find that the paparazzi aren't camped outside your front door every day. Most importantly, just give her a sense of perspective, because it looks to me at the moment that she's out of control and she needs to have someone in her life who she's going to listen to."

Finally, Cowell added: "She's welcome to call me anytime."

Simon Cowell: A Straight Botox User

Don In a candid interview with London's Daily Mail, Simon Cowell revealed the following interesting facts and responses:

He's vain!
"To be honest with you, I can't think of one person who is on TV who isn't vain. It's the nature of the beast. If you are on TV then you have a vanity, for sure. Just admit it! Why not?”

He's had Botox!
“Yes, I've had Botox, but not in an obsessive way. Then again, every guy I know who works in the city has had it now."

He's not gay!
"If I was [gay], why hide it? It's not as if the music business would be an odd place for a gay man to work. And anyway, if I was trying to hide the fact that I was gay, I would be off playing rugby every Saturday, wouldn't I?"

He doesn't want kids!
"I love kids - at least when they are old enough to talk. But my own? No. I'm terrified of the responsibility. Where would they fit in? I have to be able to fly to Los Angeles at a minute's notice."

He doesn't want to get married!
"People think there is something suspect about Terri and me. Why? Just because I don't want to get married?"

Britney Spears Lays into American Idol Judges

Simon on Britney Remember a few weeks ago when the American Idol judges said they'd love to help Britney Spears?

We thought it was a kind gesture. But apparently Britney did not.

According to Star Magazine, the absolute train wreck responded to such reports by saying: "What a joke!  They help me? I invented what they do!"

Spears then vowed never to work with any of the judges again, ripping each one, by saying:

  • Paula Abdul is a "has-been freak."
  • Simon Cowell is a "creepy Eurotrash guy who's mean and dated."
  • Randy Jackson is a "lame, cookie-cutter producer."

We can't say for sure whether Britney uttered these words or not - but would you put anything past her at this point?

American Idol Picture of the Day: Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest at Play

There wasn't much doubt that Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest were not the antagonists they often pretend to be on America Idol.

But any shadow of it should now be erased after these two celebrities were caught playing together in a pool in Miami. Aren't they adorable?

American Idol Judges Show Britney Spears Love

britney_spears180.jpg Might Britney Spears appear on American Idol next year?

Probably not. But the judges are fans of the pop star/train wreck.

"We have decided we can bring Britney back," Simon Cowell said in offering to help Spears's career. "We are serious. We plan to buy her underpants, get her bigger shorts to perform in and get her away from her stupid friends."

Paula Abdul said:, "We always have time for Britney. We love her."

Finally, Randy Jackson added: "We'd love to take care of you, Spears! We will make you a superstar again!"

Simon Cowell: Britney Spears Stole the Show

Cowell By now, everyone has heard about how awful Britney Spears was during the MTV Video Music Awards.

Therefore, you'd expect Simon Cowell to completely lay into her, right?

Wrong.

"She stole the show, whether you liked it or not. The only thing you heard about the following day was Britney Spears," the American Idol judge said.

Granted, Cowell admitted: "It wasn't the best performance. She wasn't ready for it." However, he notes, "She's had more attention in the last 48 hours than any artist on the planet."

True. But, come on. Does anyone want this sort of attention?

Three More Years of American Idol for Simon Cowell

So Long, Idol? You'll miss him when he's gone.

Simon Cowell says he won't be on American Idol forever. In fact, he's pretty much announced his departure date from the blockbuster show:

"There has to come a point when I will step down from being on camera and remain behind the scenes because you can't keep doing this for ever.

"I have three more seasons under contract with American Idol and that will be it. And it will probably come at the same time (for talent show The X Factor) in the UK.

"I am contracted for another two or three seasons in Britain and I think by that point the public will be sick to death of me anyway and it will be time to go."

American Idol Movie in the Works?

Did Simon Cowell learn nothing with From Justin to Kelly?

The American Idol judge was not involved in that fiasco, which may explain why he still think a movie inspired by his hit reality show could be a success.

Enter Star Struck.

The film's plot is a hybrid of a fictionalized American Idol-like show and Alan Parker’s 1980s’ film Fame. Star Struck follows the lives of ten celebrity-hungry contestants as they pursue their fifteen minutes.

“The story is told through the eyes of those ten contestants,” Cowell said. “We want it to be the musical version of Rocky — an underdog story, a feel-good film. Fame was all about young people wanting to be famous, and in order to do that, they enrolled in a drama school; everyone who wants to be famous today signs up for American Idol.”

To further the life-imitating-art-imitating-reality narrative, Star Struck will be cast via nationally held auditions and the film will open with Cowell presiding over potential candidates, just like those first weeks of Idol. Cowell is aiming for a summer 2008 release date.

Simon Cowell Wants to Chat with Paula Abdul's New Man

Hard at WorkIsn't this cute?

Simon Cowell would like to have a conversation with the new boyfriend of Paula Abdul. He wants to make sure this gentleman is a suitable match for his fellow American Idol judge.

The man in question is restaurateur JT Torregiani.

And, according to Abdul, it’s not the first time the acerbic judge has taken an interest in her love life.

“Simon is already calling me and bugging me and saying: 'Let me talk to him',” Paula revealed in an interview with World Entertainment News Network.

That's because he cares, Paula. Ain't nothing wrong with that.

Simon Cowell to Leave American Idol... in 2010

Sorry, Simon Cowell haters, you've still got a few more years with the honest judge.

Simon told our Extra reporter, and girlfriend, Terri Seymour that the clock on Idol is ticking for him, and that in a few years he'll leave the reality show.

American Idol Panel “There comes a point where you’ve got to move on,” Simon explained. “You’ve got to say when your time’s up.”

So, when might American Idol contestants be free from his jabs and insults?

“This is the year I decided that on American Idol, once I’ve done 10 series, your time’s up. It’s time to do something new,” he said.

But will he leave TV forever after that?

“I think I’d rather drop dead than retire," he said.

Son, don't worry fans, you'll be seeing plenty of Cowell on some stage for many years to come.
