Katharine McPhee heeds the writing on the fakewall Thursday backstage at the Six Flags America outside Baltimore.
The former American Idol runner-up is on tour, performing at the theme parks across the country.

Count Katherine McPhee among the numerous pop stars who are hoping for a film career, too:
The American Idol runner up will co-star with Anna Faris (Scary Movie) in an untitled comedy, which Adam Sandlerâs Happy Madison will produce. The movie stars Faris as a Playboy bunny who gets evicted from the House of Hef and then stumbles into the job of den mother to the lamest sorority on a nearby college campus.
Entertainment Weekly says McPhee, who described herself as ''funny and silly'' in her American Idol profile, will play one of those sorority girls. Sony is reportedly aiming for a late summer start date.
Specifically, McPhee will be portraying a pregnant hippie in an the-yet untitled comedy starring Faris and Bruce Willis' daughter, Rumer Willis.
Katharine McPhee finished in second place on American Idol last year.
And she has something in common with this year's runner-up: both her and Blake Lewis are very easy on the eyes.
Need evidence? Check out the photos below. And read through the interview McPhee recently gave Stuff magazine:
On being McNaughty and McNice:
âThere are different sides of me. On American Idol, people saw the side that is very professional and put together. But thereâs this other side of me thatâs outgoing, energetic, and wildâand did really stupid things in college.â
On dating older men (her boyfriend, Broadway actor Nick Cokas, is 42):
âWhen I turned 21, I thought it was a good age to explore. Youâre no longer a teenager, so itâs OK [to date older guys]. I gravitated toward them, and I love them. Theyâre just wiser, and theyâre less about themselves and more about you.â
On her new album cover:
âPeople made a big deal out of that. They said, âSheâs a slut, blah, blah, blah.â But Iâm really not showing that much skin. Itâs all suggested.â
On what younger men need to know about women:
âWomen sometimes act out, and men get frustrated. They donât get that all we want is, for a few seconds, for you to be all about the girlâto snuggle her and give her kisses and tell her âYour lips are so pretty today. I love your lips.ââ
On being popular with the fellas:
âI was prematurely developed. As a freshman I looked like a junior; I had boobs. Some of the older kids saw me in the yearbook and said I was cute.â

Don't worry, Katharine McPhee, fans have your back.
Many supporters of this season five finalist believe she got snubbed during this year's American Idol season finale. How come? Because past contestants such as Taylor Hicks and Carrie Underwood performed... but Katharine was nowhere to be seen, despite voicing her hope for a role on the show weeks before it aired.
Now, her "McPhans" have undertaken Project KitKat in order to express their anger in a healthy, fattening way. American Idol and FOX network execs who dissed Katharine will be sent KitKat bars, along with a strongly-worded note expressing the fans' disappointment with the show, in the near future.
There's even a promotional video for the cause. And all we can say is this: it's a good thing McPhee's first name sounds like a candy bar. Only her and fans of Reese Witherspoon can really protest in such an effective manner as a result of this fortune.
Katharine McPhee fans are outraged that the former contestant was treated rudely on a Washington D.C. radio station. Now the showâs DJ, Kane, is hitting back.
McPhee was interviewed by an intern named Ally on Hot 99.5âs The Kane Morning Show. The interview was supposed to be in the studio and the station had agreed that McPhee wouldnât be asked any personal questions.
But McPhee didnât show up at the studio â handlers explained that her flight had been delayed â and one of the first questions the intern asked the 23-year-old singer was about her 42-year-old boyfriend. The intern asked if having a boyfriend who was so much older hurt or helped the relationship.
An obviously irritated McPhee said she didnât want to discuss her private life and the interview went downhill from there.
Angry fans deluged Kane with hate mail. âMaybe she should have been nicer and been live as she promised,â Kane replied to some of them.
The angry calls and e-mails kept coming, and Kane shot back a lengthy response at those backing this finalist from season five of American Idol.
âIâm getting increasingly frustrated by e-mails from McPhee fans that donât know the whole story and are writing me angry e-mails,â Kane wrote to them, scolding, âIt makes Kat look bad when ever other word in your e-mail about how you thought we didnât handle the interview professionally starts with an f---.â
He went on to describe in detail a scenario in which he said McPhee was pitched to the radio show on the condition that she appear live, that the appearance be pre-promoted, and that there would be no personal questions. He also challenged the excuses he was given for her failing to appear live â pointing out, for example, that the flights from L.A. to Washington werenât delayed that morning.
âSlam us, go-head,â Kane wrote. âWe agreed to have her on; we followed the rules. They didnât tell the truth. Kat could have had a little more fun with Ally. She could have said, âYou guys know youâre not supposed to ask me personal questions. Whatâs wrong with you?â Rather, she just got mad.â
Chris Daughtry is proving that you don't need to finish first to be an American Idol success story.
Katharine McPhee is now doing the same.
Last year's fifth-season runner-up is set to star in The Last Caller, a "dark romantic comedy" that's scheduled to begin filming in and around New York in the fall, The Hollywood Reporter reported Tuesday. McPhee will reportedly play a self-obsessed woman in-search of love and the hope of finding herself in the "coming-of-age" independent film.
"This is the first thing that I read that I really wanted to do," McPhee said. "I'm up for a couple of big studio projects, but they weren't starring roles. I wanted to start off doing something a little different. It's something that a lot of people wouldn't expect me doing."
Last August, the singer was being considered for a film version of Wonder Woman, but she discredited those reports shortly thereafter, claiming the prospects for a Wonder Woman movie weren't very good.
However, the second-place finisher to Taylor Hicks has apparently found the right role with The Last Caller, which was written by Michael Albanese.
"[The role] is definitely a little darker than me," McPhee said, adding that she won't be required to sing for the film.
You're in luck if you own Sirius Satellite Radio this week.
Taylor Hicks, Katharine McPhree and Elliott Yamin will all serve as guest DJs on Sirius Radio Tuesday and Wednesday - but not together. Each will play an hour of favorite songs on Sirius channel 12's Super Shuffle.
Taylor's on Tuesday at 7 a.m., repeating at 7 p.m. and Wednesday at midnight, 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. (all times ET). Katharine McPhee appears Tuesday at 1 p.m., repeating at 10 p.m. and Wednesday at 6 a.m., 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. Elliott is on Tuesday at 10 a.m., repeating at 4 p.m. and Wednesday at 3 a.m., noon and 6 p.m.
Enjoy!
Katharine McPhee is absolutely beautiful.
She also has a big heart, as the former American Idol runner-up is seen here at Sephora in Hollywood on Wednesday, where she on hand for the Love Lisa: Armed and Glamorous party to raise awareness about skin cancer.
And why not make some cotton candy while there?

With all due respect to this year's American Idol beauties - Antonella Barba and Haley Scarnato - a pair of past contestants made the annual FHM Sexiest Women in the World list.
The first-ever champion, Kelly Clarkson, stood at number-96. We can see her moving up next year as albums take off and she becomes even more of a sensation.
For Katharine McPhee, though, there's barely room for improvement. The runner-up to Taylor Hicks last year also came in second in this poll. But there's certainly no shame is losing out on the top spot to Jessica Alba.
