We're gonna come out and say it:
Adam Lambert is the greatest American Idol contestant of all-time.
Who else has received a standing ovation from Simon Cowell, as Lambert did last night following his incredible rendition of "Mad World?" Who else has the range and the unique style of this former theater performer?
In the interest of fairness to other contestants, we also enjoyed Matt Giraud this week. He looked quite cool in that Justin Timberlake fedora, while turning Stevie Wonder's “Part-Time Lover” into modern hit.
We also loved Allison Iraheta, who sung far beyond her age with Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”

WOW! Adam Lambert is flipping incredible! I even liked his weird "Ring of Fire" but "Mad World" was beyond comparison. Love Allison too - would love to see those two do a duet.

Frankly, Adam is so good that it is scary. I would pay big bucks to see him live in concert, I would pay big bucks to watch him in the theater. I don't care if he's straight, gay or even twisted. This is a singing and entertainment competition and he hits every ball out of the park. I just feel sorry for any contestant that has to perform after him.

Adam Lambert was fantastic... I am no young teenager either, I am gonna be 60... but I know talent when I hear it! He's a winner!

Not being able to see Adam Lambert's performance last night made me furious. The judges need to stop all their bickering and let us see ALL the performers. I also hope this is Tara's last season. She makes me sick to even look at her. They better play Adam's performance from last night since we didn't get to see it.

I thought there was only the Tears for Fears version. Then I later found out that there was indeed another arrangement by Gary Jules.
I found the 3 versions (Adam Lambert, Tears for Fears, Gary Jules) comparison video at

The Jules version is the sad version of Madworld and probably is a good one for singing contests like American Idol. If Adam did the Tears for Fears version, the judges might see it as just “karaoke” singing.
