Thank you, Simon Cowell!
We've been saying for weeks that David Archuleta may have a great voice, but he has the personality of a desk chair. The guy puts on the same, strained performance week after week.
Cowell, meanwhile, made his similar opinion known during a recent interview with Blender. When told that his interviewer bears a resemblance to Archuleta, Cowell replied:
"I would think you have a bit more personality than he does."
As for his pick to win this season's American Idol crown, Simon also took the side we've been supporting all season:
"Probably David Cook," he said. "I think he's done more to deserve it over the eleven weeks. He's taken more risks, he's done things with certain songs that have been more interesting. If I'm gonna base it on who has done the best performances over the live shows, David Cook deserves to win."

At a time when they need to look their best, AI made them look their worst. Three songs at a minute-thirty is a propos of and ice skating review, not America's preeminent talent contest.
Two songs each is a gracious plenty to craft at this stage of the competition - judes' choice and artists' choice only. Last night's producers' choices made it look like the competition was being rigged.
Fill the balance of the show with highlight footage or increased banter between Ryan and the judges. Give us what we expect from American Idol.

This is the first season of AI I watched and it will be the last. The show is rigged from the beginning with judges talking up contestants they like.
It's a laugh that Simon wants more talkative people on the show. Last Tuesday's show, David Archuleta just shook his head to disagree with Simon's comments - and Simon was ready to bite his head off!!!

I know that not many people would agree with me. David Archuleta isn’t a very good singer, at least not as good as David Cook. He cannot do what Cook can do. Cook is original, a risk taker, creative and he chooses difficult song to sing. Archuleta is a middle-of-the-road kind of singer. When he tried hip-hp (singing “With You” by Chris Brown), he failed to deliver it. This is serious. All this while, the songs that he chose (or rather the father chose for him) are not really contemporary for present day. Cook is more relevant in today’s music industry. I’m not sure how many fans Archuleta could bring over to the real world. Voting by texting and going out to buy the album are two different kind of support. Archuleta appeals to a large young teenage group, while Cook’s audience are more mature and his songs appeal to more people at all levels.

David Archuleta is boring. Play all his songs and they sound the same. It seems as if he is already endorsed by the judges and really gave others no chance by openly showing favortism. Some of those voted off are better off without an American Idol contract. I personally think David C. threw the game and tonight, we will see him at his best since he will not have the worry of having to sing for votes. I love the way he told Simon he did not want to do a song twice. If you look at you tube, David Archuleta has been singing Imagine in contest since he was 10 and all the songs sound the same. I think this opportunity will put him with normal teenagers and give him exposure that he craves as well as his family. David Archuleta carries alot of drama and the media will love it. On the other hand, Cook is very relaxed with who he is and he has a close family that does not interfere but encourages as well as he encourages his family. To say that David Cook has a band is simply saying sure, but not in contest after contest. The one who wins is both David's and if they are smart, they have to stay away from the crumby songs from AI.

I have always been a rocker, so I am naturally a big David Cook fan – I believe (as most others do) that he has wide range of talent (a great voice, originality, stage presence, maturity/personality). As far as comparing David Cook to David Archuleta, I understand it is difficult to compare apples to oranges – two different types of talents and voices seasoned in two different genres. If we look solely at vocal talent, however, I would say Archuleta wins the battle. Both singers proved they have big ranges, could sustain notes and hit notes with pitch-perfection. What I think sets Archuleta apart is his ability to make the runs with several notes and remain pitch perfect. I also think his range (low to high) is a bit larger than Cook’s. I have also heard people say that Archuleta’s voice inside the Nokia Theater projected like none other. In my opinion, to say that Archuleta is middle-of-the-road and couldn’t appeal to present-day listeners is wrong – e.g. I thought his duet with One Republic was awesome.

David archuleta sings mostly balads & there is NOTHING wrong with that. He is NOT boring but very talented for such a young age. Can any of you have good pitch & tone at that age. Think of other singers who sing ballads ONLY. there are many. he will sell many cd's

Hey not matter what Simon Cowell has to say on it i think David Archuleta is awsome and her deserved to win! I wish he had.
