Sorry, Sanjaya: Malakar Disappoints at American Idol Audition
We like Sanjaya Malakar. We really do.
But this American Idol contestant was probably the biggest bust of all the top men last night. While Blake Lewis impressed the judges, Malakar even left Paula Abdul straining to find a compliment.
At least Sanjaya seems aware of his difficult outing. He reacts below:

That picture was really immature and arguably racist. He had one of the best VOCALS of the night, the song was just all wrong. But I do agree that he's got to step it up a little and take this a little more seriously.

I believe that Sanjaya needs to go. He is not up the quality of the rest of the young people. He's not up to the quality of American Idol.

Sanjaya has the best vocals of anyone but Lakisha he is just so shy someone needs to break that shell and we will see a star.

Sanjaya has one the best voices in the competition. The judges are being extremely dense and maybe even racist if they cannot see his potential. however, he is too shy and needs to open up and let everyone see his wondeful personality.

I think Sajna is really,really,really,really,really,really,good singer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He just need's to open up a little bit,and everything will be alright.Some poeple think he sucks but I DON'T UNDERSTAND.Ithink really hot and he has a really really good voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all there is nothing racist about that picture, thats just a way to avoid the more direct points of argument. His singing has potential however American Idol is looking for the best right now, not the best 3 years from now. He himself knows he doesnt deserve to be there and that is most clearly shown on his reaction to winning over Sundance. The competition gave Sundance a standing ovation when he was voted out yet didnt even hug or shake the hand of Sanjaya. The judges were quite aware of how insane the voting was for this kid, he isnt up to par. I first blame the judges for putting him into the top 24 knowing he would gain sympathy/younger audience votes. If you go on youtube and compare his performance of "Knocks me off my feet" to Elliot Yamin you will see why he isnt American Idol material. If he stays another week I wont be surprised with the amount of younger audience that is dillusional and voting on him sheerly on how attractive he is over his vocal quality.

I cannot believe that this rat is still on the show. He cannot sing and has the personality of a prune. The judges even think he is horrible! It is all because little teenie boppers vote for him because he is "sooooooo cute". If the voting policy was vote for who you want off, Im sure Sanjaya would be gone, because I wouldnt sleep until I knew I had voted for him for the whole 2 hours the lines are open. This nonsense has got to stop!

i don't know what is going on..why is this person still on the show...he is horrible, he has no power behind his voice he sung that diana ross song like a wimp!! yes he is adorable and has great hair but he cannot sing..or he is hiding his talent very well!!!

If you are making racist comment then it is so bad, because honestly Sanjaya is no worst than many other singers. As far as Sundance did not sake hands with Sanjaya, who cares? I did not even notice it. It is pure arrogance of Sundance. It is a singing competition, but people see your face too. Otherwise put a computer with recorded voice dumb.
